The art of photography has become a growing passion for many millennials, hoping to capture the world in intriguing and original ways. With one click of the camera a statement is made, often one of much more than 1,000 words. As attractive as the field is, what does it really take as a creative with a camera? Well, we turned our spotlight on to Shannon Elizabeth of Shan In Wonderland to find out.
Started just last year, Shan In Wonderland is an art brand dedicated to street, travel, and portrait photography. Currently located in Washington, D.C. Shannon turns her lens onto everyday scenery, bringing a thought provoking perspective to life as we know it.
As intriguing as her work is, photography was once just a hobby for Shannon Elizabeth:
I’m an engineer and I spent most of undergrad neglecting and denying my art. When I graduated, I took 3 months off to breathe before job hunting and found it was a really good time to really nourish that part of myself. I didn’t really tell anyone throughout that process, but now I love being able to create images.
Now the young creative works tirelessly to produce work that not only pleases herself, but her clients as well.
Shannon aims to keep her brand authentic, capturing the honesty in what naturally exists. With current plans to expand Shan In Wonderland to include her own personal fashion, the artist is ready to tackle the ever dynamic world of creative-entrepreneurship.
