Oily skin can be a huge burden! Many of us are born with this issue due to genetics, and have been struggling for as long as we can remember. Always ending up shiny at the end of the day, your make up failing to last, your nose greasy enough to fry a bucket of chicken….. we’ve all been there.
Having oily/acne prone skin can cause many beautiful people to develop low self-esteem and levels of confidence, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel! While there is really no reversing your oily skin, you can learn how to live with it! So relax a little bit, we got you covered. Follow these tips for beautiful and healthy skin.
WASH YOUR FACE
Use a facial cleanser that works. In order to ensure that your precious skin remains smooth and flawless, you need to find a facial cleanser made for your skin type. Try the all-around favorite, The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash!
TRY A MASK
You can make your own mask by mashing one banana with a teaspoon of honey and a couple of drops of lemon juice. If DIY is not your style, try the Freeman Feeling Beautiful Facial Clay Mask: Avocado & Oatmeal.
CHECK YOUR PILLOWCASE
Make sure to clean your pillowcase often. Sleeping on a dirty pillowcase can cause an acne flare up as the dirt from your face transfers to your pillowcase to your face. Try to switch it out every three days.
Set your makeup after cleansing your face. Use a setting powder like the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. This will ensure your makeup does not end up sliding off of your face.
A matte foundation is not necessarily a powder. Your foundation can be anything from a cream foundation to liquid. You don’t want your face to look reflective in photos. This is an additional step to take to make sure that your makeup stays on all day. If you have some extra money to splurge on foundation, try the Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint.
