Exfoliating has become the latest beauty hack on everybody’s mind. We’ve always been aware of body scrubs, salts, sugars, etc, but unfortunately we all have been SLEEP on the real benefit behind using them. Exfoliating literally helps you shed away dead skin cells allowing for brighter, healthier skin. Additionally, exfoliation helps with skin conditions such as dryness, dark marks, or pesky ingrown hairs.
If that’s not enough to make you join the bandwagon think of it this way. Your body produces new skin cells and sends them to their death every single day. As we age the removal of those dead cells gets harder and harder, however techniques like exfoliating help get them out the way.
However, there is always “too much” of a good thing. Over exfoliating can actually lead to dry or irritated skin, so it’s important to have a routine. It’s recommended to exfoliate your body once or twice a week using a body scrub. However, that same body scrub shouldn’t be used to exfoliate your face because it’s too harsh for the delicate area. Try a separate more gentle scrub for your face. But keep in mind…. consistent exfoliation leads to the best results.
So now that you know that facts, where can you buy some of your own? Luckily it’s all over the place!
