Fall Back to School Fashion!

Fall Back to School Fashion!

Fall Back to School Fashion!

The 90s are making a comeback and so are…. the 70s?

This autumn, as we shop for our back to school essentials, we can’t forget the most important purchase of all: our wardrobe! With the 90s still making a wave in fashion, and the return of satin, this is the perfect time to, once again, replenish our wardrobes with style.

It would not be the 90s without denim. Denim is everything, from denim skirts, to denim jackets. Some brave folks are wearing denim over denim, flouting the rule that denim must not be paired with denim. If you are one of those bravehearts, try pairing these ASOS ripped denim shorts with GAP camo denim jacket.

Don’t forget that denim also comes in different colours and patterns, like this red leopard print denim skirt from ASOS. Oo-la-la!

Jackets for Smuggling

The big hip-hop jackets of the 90s are cool again. They never stopped being cool, really. If you don’t fancy a run of the mill denim jacket, try an oversized one, like this perfectly blue one from Boohoo. The bomber jacket and the parka fur hood jacket have both been making their rounds in RnB and hip-hop videos with style. ZARA’s floral print bomber jacket is feminine and hip-hop, and River Island’s parka is too hip-hop to be floral.

You can style up your hip-hop look by wearing it padded, like this Ivy Park puffer jacket from Toyshop. (Also check your local thrift store for bargain big jackets!)

Frills Here, Frills-where!

70’s Frills, ruffles and bells are taking the world of fashion by storm. What began with just dresses has made a revolution into tops, skirts and even jumpers! They add a girly element of femininity to any piece of clothing, and retain a sense of the wonder of summer, even as the autumn leaves fall.

Try this beautiful, blue tea dress with frills, from Missguided, or these cropped jeans with frill from Vero Moda.

The Jumpsuit

The jumpsuit has been making a comeback for a few years now, another fav from the 70s. It can only have a limited amount of time before it becomes unfashionable once more. But for now, it is still one of the best fashion items for slaying, especially as it gets colder and fabrics get longer.

This floral, wide leg jumpsuit from Missguided screams “slay queen”.

Satin is no longer just for pajamas or expensive dinner dresses. Satin is for trainers, trousers, dresses and all kinds for everyday wear. Miss Selfridge offers a fabulous satin pink blazer that matches every outfit, while Dorothy Perkins’ rose satin pumps add a crown of class to any outfit you pair it with.

Satin dresses are the penultimate fashion wear, with their ability to make everyone look royal, like this satin high neck dress from ASOS.
